fudging around with exec dbms_xdb_config.sethttpport ... makes me grumpy

So the machine I am "hacking around" with to play with 12c is up and running ... asm / grid / database including CDB and PDB ( container and pluggable ).

So was I happy?  Well not so much ... for various unknown reasons I was still not able to get into this new database express console ( OEM replacement ) thing ... it was supposed to be on ( https://amd1:5500/em ) but would not respond or let me get in that way.

Of course my old tools like emctl and emca are not around anymore ... "about all you have is" ( apparently ) dbms_xdb_config ... so I was googling around on that.

Thanks to HJR ( dizwell.com ) I saw a post of his and found this thing

exec dbms_xdb_config.sethttpport ( instead of sethttpsport ... set the http port ).

Kind of like my missing "emca unsecure dbconsole" ( or was it emctl unsecure dbconsole ) ...

I first tried it just changing the 5500 port but it would not take ... 5500 still in use apparently.

So I changed it ( exec dbms_xdb_config.sethttpport(5505) ) and this command took.  I restarted the machine and now finally database express is talking to me ( unsecured ) on port 5505 ...

I hope this might be of use to somebody else besides me!
